Support Tamkivi Foundation for the studies and research in the field of Natural Sciences

Tallinn Science Park Tehnopol donated 2500 eur to Tamkivi Foundation, to support young Estonians’ studies and research in the field of natural sciences.

Tehnopol’s CEO Jaak Raie said, that Raivo Tamkivi’s contribution to the development of Estonian science parks is impossible to underestimate. „We support the growth of science with our work daily here at Science Park Tehnopol and also by donating to Tamkivi Foundation, so that natural sciences subjects would become more popular among Estonian students and Estonian companies would have a chance to hire world-class specialists from the local market.

We encourage other organisations as well to donate for Tamkivi Foundation, which for today has already supported the future of 10 young Estonian scientists.

Tamkivi Foundation for Natural Sciences was established in 2013 in memory of father and son, Paul and Raivo Tamkivi who both passed away in the short span of the year before.  The endowment was seeded by their family, friends and Tallinn Rotary Club.

The main measures provided by the Foundation are scholarships granted to winning applicants of an annual public contest. Applications are expected from Estonian citizens enrolled in masters and doctoral programs in broad field of natural sciences. In case of equally qualified candidates, preference is given to those active in the disciplines of physics (especially energetics), mathematics, medicine (especially cancer research), engineering and computer science; and to those whose activities have a notable international reach.
