P4SME project made a toolbox for new sustainable initiatives aimed at SME-s

Tehnopol Science and Business Park together with the technology parks FUNDECYT-PCTEX in Spain, Johanneberg Science Park in Sweden and external experts from all around the Europe have participated in a project called P4SME.

The aim was to improve the support in terms of sustainability that European STPs, incubators, innovation agencies or similar organizations that are providing to their client companies, especially focusing to share experiences and identify opportunities in the field of sustainability for small and medium-sized companies (SMEs). The background is the rapid change that is now required and the conviction that SMEs need to be at the forefront of this.

The P4SME project has now published its final report which contains detailed information of 13 different initiatives in the areas of ecological, social, and economic sustainability originating in Estonia, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden. During the project, the participants presented their respective initiatives and discussed how to implement each other’s proposals. In addition to the project participants, experts from the EU’s Joint Research Center Policy Lab, the European Business and Innovation Centre Network and Circular Change, among others, have contributed initiatives and experiences.

Initiatives described in the report are, for example:

  • Acceleration program for social entrepreneurship
  • Alternative mobility solutions for personal transport
  • Tools for achieving the SDG goals
  • Development of sustainable future business models
  • Estimation of the degree of circularity of operations

This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation programme under grant agreement No. 970887. The project finished on June 30.
