Healthy boost
The Healthy Boost project (Urban Labs for Better Health for All in the Baltic Sea Region – boosting cross-sectoral cooperation for health and well-being in the cities) unites 14 partners from seven countries in the Baltic Sea region. The project aims to promote the health and well-being of people in this region through collaboration with various sectors and partners.
Healthy Boost project addresses the health burden of city residents due to unhealthy lifestyles. Cities such as Poznan, Klaipeda, Jelgava, Tartu and Turku experiment with different methods of community participation, health learning or cross-sectoral cooperation.
The main objectives of the project are to ensure the sustainable development of the Baltic Sea region and the social well-being of its inhabitants. These goals will be achieved through the following key activities:
- Developing cooperation and involving citizens in shaping health and well-being policies.
- Enhancing cooperation among Baltic Sea region countries to create an integrated policy that considers health and well-being.
- Promoting innovation in the Baltic Sea region countries to address health and well-being challenges.
The primary outcome of the project is an effective cooperation model involving local politics, city residents, NGOs, and other sectors. A work tool will be developed to assess the needs, values, capabilities, motivations, desires, and best practices of cities engaged in multi-level cooperation for health and well-being.
As the project concludes, the team will formalise recommendations for promoting health and well-being in city policies, along with a description of the experiences of participating institutions. Other cities can utilise these insights to shape their health policies if they wish.
