The aim of the Tehnopol Startup Incubator is to help technology-based startups to grow and reach the wide world. For that reason we participate in many projects that help us reach this goal. This event is part of the Northbound Startups project.
The application period for the first accelerator of Northbound Startups has started! The deadline for applications is 9th of August but there’s no reason to wait for that. We will review the applications continuously so apply now!

Switch your business to the acceleration line
We will provide you a high level, seven month acceleration program with 6 practical and exclusive training days from the experts – free of charge. The program is open for early-stage startups, entrepreneurs, researches and teams with a viable business idea and a cross-border mindset. The official language is English and events will be arranged in the Science Parks in Tallinn, Turku and Västerås and partially online.
What’s included in the accelerator
This is a seven month program starting in September 2020 and lasting until March 2021. Ten startups will be taken into the program and we are looking for businesses from Estonia, Finland and Sweden.
The accelerator consists of six modules
- Growth company fundamentals
- How to develop and design products/services your customers can’t live without
- The things you can’t do on your own – legal
- How to make yourself and investors happy – finances
- Someone needs to buy this stuff – sales and marketing
The perfect pitch – a true masterclass
The accelerator will end at the Demo Day in mid March 2021. That event will be loaded with pitching, demos, matchmaking, competition, investor meetings and what not.
Where is this gonna happen
Northbound Startups is an international project run by the Science Parks in Tallinn, Turku and Västerås. Coaching will be given by assigned key-coaches mostly in Tehnopol, Tallinn, but also in the other locations and online. Startups will have the possibility to travel across the borders (if the public health situation allows) and meet coaches, mentors, other teams and investors in all sites.
For more information please contact Anne-Liisa Elbrecht at AnneLiisa.Elbrecht@tehnopol.ee
The NBS accelerator will start in the beginning of September, 2020. Last day to apply is August 9th, 2020.
Northbound Startups project focuses on knowledge-based companies and supports their internationalization at an early stage. The project aims to form cross-border teams, provide a path to entrepreneurship and support existing early-stage startups to find their first clients, investors and advisors.
