Connected Health Cluster
Connected Health Cluster is a permanent, mutually beneficial partnership between stakeholders in Estonia, who are committed to accelerating the adoption of connected health solutions, at scale on commercial terms. CH is part of the European Connected Health Alliance and ScanBalt network. The aim of the Connected Health Cluster is:
- to impact healthier life and improve patient care
- to provide economic growth through the adoption of connected health solutions
- to accelerate global access for the Estonian cluster members
Our vision is to transform healthcare services through the implementation of connected health solutions. By encouraging innovation through entrepreneurship and providing a collective forum for connected health advocates, CH brokers solutions for these challenges, thereby creating financial efficiencies for Estonian government and ultimately helping healthcare providers to deliver quality care for people, patients and families in Estonia and internationally. Connected Health Cluster has got 60+ partners, which includes 43 companies (startups, health IT, biotech), R&D partners and need partners, i.e. hospitals, GPs, big Pharma, spas, sportsmen, etc.
The activities of Connected Health cluster are co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund in total amount of 0.6 mln EUR.
IN-4-AHA
The EU-funded IN-4-AHA project will enhance the uptake of digital innovations in active and healthy ageing.
The Innovation Networks for Scaling Active and Healthy Ageing (IN-4-AHA) project consists of ten partners from seven EU countries with different and complementary backrounds. The project will build upon the legacy of the EIP on AHA ecosystem and advance digital innovation for the benefit of the silver economy.
The IN-4-AHA project (SC1-HCC-08-2020) will build on the achievements and legacy of the EIP on AHA ecosystem. Besides actively involving the EIP on AHA community, the project will also engage with the Joint Programming Initiative on More Years Better Lives, the Active and Assisted Living Programme, EIT Digital and EIT Health.

Healthy Boost
Healthy Boost (Urban Labs for Better Health for All in the Baltic Sea Region – boosting cross-sectoral cooperation for health and wellbeing in the cities) project addresses the health burden of city residents due to unhealthy lifestyles. Cities such as Poznan, Klaipeda, Jelgava, Tartu and Turku experiment with different methods of community participation, health learning or cross-sectoral cooperation. The main objective of the project is to make urban policies for health and well-being more innovative, more effective and more integrated. This includes work on cross-sectoral cooperation with potential to be used in other fields as well.
ProVaHealth
Living Labs project ProVaHealth aims to overcome the following challenges:
- Most Living Lab infrastructure serves only locally or regionally meaning lack of clients
- Slow market uptake of innovations
The overall strategic aim is the “Baltic Sea Region as one test site for development of healthcare products and services”.
ProVaHealth facilitates access to health infrastructures for startups and SMEs aiming for commercialization with excellent client validation opportunities, hands-on feedback and input for product development.
It involves 14 health Living Labs from the Baltic Sea Region.
Our objectives
- To create better collaboration between Health Living Labs in the Baltic Sea Region
- To ensure smooth access to Living Lab services for SMEs
- To improve market uptake of new products and services in health
- Enforcing innovation, creation of new entreprises and growth of SMEs
- Improving peoples health, well-being and quality of life

- Open services of Living Labs promoted globally
- Self-evaluation toolbox for Living Labs
- Transnational Living Lab concept including a service model

AI4Diag aims at contributing to making Europe the world leader in disease prevention and prediction by enabling the combination and convergence of diagnostic technologies with Artificial Intelligence and machine learning. Indeed the strengthening of a competitive life sciences industry in Europe is directly linked to the integration of cutting edge technologies such as bioinformatics, omics, image processing, data management and analysis.
