CTO Talks #2 with Oracle, Skype and AgileWorks
CTO Talks #2 returns on the 9th of May at 14.00 to bring you the top CTOs of Estonian startups and technology executives to discuss tech, back-end services and CTO roles while growing the company.
What are the new and fast changing technologies demanding for growth from CTO point of view? What kind of technical challenges and concerns are the technical executives dealing on a daily basis? This time we will share three tech-driven talks from Oracle, Skype and AgileWorks and will discuss the following topics:
- Oleg Šelajev: “Run any code in any language, anywhere with GraalVM”
- Keerthi Shankar Sekar: “Data driven decision making”
- Karel Golberg and Arni Leibovitš: “Sustainable software development”
Who can you meet?
– Oleg Šelajev, Principle Product Manager, Oracle Labs
Oleg Šelajev is a developer advocate for the Graal project at Oracle Labs, which aims to make programs run faster and developers more productive. He helps to organize VirtualJUG, the online Java User Group, and a GDG chapter in Tartu, Estonia.
– Keerthi Shankar Sekar, Senior Program Manager, Skype
Keerthi is a Senior Program Manager at Microsoft (Skype) in Tallinn. He is building a low latency and intelligent network infrastructure for transporting VoIP packets for Skype, Skype for Business and Microsoft Teams. In addition to that, Keerthi is working on enabling collaborative meetings for Microsoft Teams on WebRTC enabled browsers. With over 15 years of experience, he spent a large part of his career writing hard core C++. In Skype, he brought HD video calling to the customers!
– Karel Golberg and Arni Leibovitš, Lead Developers and Owners of AgileWorks
Golberg and Leibovitš call themselves Software Craftsmen. In AgileWorks which is both developer owned and managed company, they actively contribute to the company’s sustainable development and quality of services. Or as Karel says: “One of the main differences between traditional and agile software development is that agile development welcomes changes and progress at any time. The world is changing, business goals are changing – so must our software be ready for changes at any time.”
